A publicist focusing on chef-driven concepts and luxury hotels, Karrie Leung brings more than 14 years of public relations experience to her current role as an in-house consultant. Her background ranges from agency experience at Edelman Public Relations, Margie Korshak, and Wagstaff Worldwide to in-house positions at Mulberry, Park Hyatt Chicago, NoMI, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation (Park Hyatt & Andaz). Since launching Karrie Leung Public Relations in 2009, she has worked with a myriad of clients, including Nightwood, RIA at the Elysian Hotel Chicago, Girl & the Goat, GT Fish & Oyster, Balena, Tenzing Wine & Spirits, Boka, and Trenchermen.


A graduate of Northwestern University, Madelaine Kukanza brings more than six years of public relations experience to her role of Account Supervisor at Karrie Leung Public Relations. Madelaine specializes in travel and hospitality PR and has worked on clients ranging from Maple & Ash to Hotel Zachary to Coco Privé Private Island. She brings a personal passion for travel and food to her role and is thrilled to rejoin the KLPR team in a new position.

Earning a degree in Public Relations from DePaul University in 2015, Marci Ponto gained valuable agency experience at Allied Integrated Marketing where she worked with various clients in the entertainment industry. As a Chicago native, she loves trying new restaurants, bars and everything the city has to offer.  


Born and raised in South Florida, Julie Konners is a determined public relations professional who brings a passion for the hospitality and restaurant industry to Karrie Leung Public Relations. Prior to joining Karrie Leung PR, Julie worked at Edelman in Chicago, assisting with media relations and helping execute national campaigns with clients including Butterball, Principal Financial Group, and United Airlines. 

Julie graduated from Indiana University in May 2017 with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. She is excited to join Karrie Leung Public Relations and bring both her passion and her appetite to the table!
