At New Halsted Street Location, The Blue Door Farm Stand Concept Organically Evolves With The Addition Of A Full-Service Kitchen And Bar CHICAGO (January 2017) – Chicago restaurant group Ideology Entertainment is slated to reopen Lincoln Park’s beloved eatery, Blue Door Farm Stand (2010 N. Halsted Street), in its more spacious location this February 2017. Longtime fans of the Blue Door brand and guests will welcome not only a new location and larger space, but also a more evolved version of the original Blue Door Farm Stand concept and menu.
The genesis of the Blue Door brand concept, Blue Door Farm Stand plans to celebrate and honor its long-standing collaborations with farmers and local purveyors while showcasing their take on full-service dining.
Shedding former limitations of a small, restrictive kitchen, the new location boasts an open line, full bar, in-house baking program, and second floor atrium dining area. By developing relationships with guests and coordinating directly with local farmers, the concept has organically expanded its regionally inspired menu. The newly reopened Blue Door Farm Stand will continue to be a champion of this shifting ethos in restaurant dining. Ideology Entertainment Chef Rey Villalobos’s flexible, dynamic, and thoughtful menu items will characterize Blue Door Farm Stand’s philosophy: Let the seasons dictate what’s on the plate, and keep the mileage between farm and table as small as possible.
Blue Door Farm Stand will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch. The cross-cultural menu showcases a wide array of Midwestern ingredients, as well as the highest quality seafood sourced responsibly.
Breakfast will be served daily from 8-10:30 a.m., and will include grab-and-go items. Standouts on the breakfast menu include the Smoked Salmon Tartine (Toasted Bagel, Charred Tomatoes, Cucumber, Arugula, Herbed Cream Cheese, Caper Vinaigrette), Sunrise BLT (Sunny Side Eggs, Heirloom Tomatoes, Bacon, Tarragon Aioli, Multigrain Toast) and Croissant Americana (Sausage Patty, Scrambled Egg, American Cheddar).
Lunch offerings will include a variety of starters, sandwiches, entrées and from the garden salads. Favorites amongst the lunch menu include the renowned Brussels & Kale Salad (Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Chopped Kale, Bacon, Toasted Almonds, Parmesan Cheese, Maple Tahini) The Spanish style Bikini Sandwich (Manchego Cheese, Serrano, Pepper Jelly, French Bread) and Farm Veggie Pho (Spiced Lemon Grass Broth, Tofu, Shiitake Mushrooms, Rice Noodles).
The dinner menu rounds out the day with a range of dishes including starters and savory entrées. Guests can find dishes including Steamed Buns (Pork Belly, Pickled Scallions, Hoisin Glaze) Faroe Island Salmon (Tomato-Almond Pistou, Charred Asparagus, Scallions, Sherry Reduction) and Fried Chicken Sliders (Hot Sauce Aioli, Pickle, Hawaiian Bread).
Brunch will be served every Saturday and Sunday till 3pm. Guests will find dishes including The Forager Benedict (Mushrooms, Kale, Onions, Sauce Choron), Chilaquiles (Corn Tortillas, Chihuahua Cheese, Fried Egg, Chili Roja) and Stuffed French Toast (Cream Cheese, Corn Flakes, Candied Pecans) along with other sweet and savory options.
Blue Door Farm Stand’s menu was once limited by space, but the Ideology Entertainment team is now proud to introduce a 4,000-square-foot and two-story restaurant built for 150 guests. The space complete with Blue Door staples: an airy and bright dining room, unceremoniously elegant seating and Edison-light bulb chandeliers. Blue Door Farm Stand will be the newest opening from the Blue Door brand, which has seen great success from Blue Door Kitchen and Garden and Blue Door Farm Stand TOO.
