CHICAGO (August 2017) – On Monday, August 28, chef Edward Kim of Ruxbin (851 N. Ashland Ave) and Mott St (1401 N. Ashland Ave,) will host guests on the patio of Mott St, for an evening celebrating diversity and the spirit of hospitality. Ruxbin and Mott St will thank the neighborhood for their support by providing an evening of revelry from 6-10 p.m.
A casual affair that is free to the public — with a $25 suggested donation — all proceeds will go to the Young Center, an organization that provides pro-bono work for immigrant children's rights.
Chefs from Ruxbin, Mott St, Ada Street will provide food from their favorite staff family meals served buffet style. Hopewell Brewing will provide draft and bottled beer, as well as a raffle prize for the evening. Mott St's cash cocktail bar will be open for guests to enjoy.
The evening will include an interactive art wall curated by Nate Chung, with the option for guests to participate directly. Community speakers from the Young Center and live music provided by Brasstax, a local Chicago DJ, will round out the celebration.
Inspired by Chicago's diversity, the event aims to bring people together and empower the public through a message of unity. Sanctuary restaurants in the spirit of hospitality and inclusion, Mott St and Ruxbin strive to give back to a community and city that has given them so much. Chef Edward Kim, founder of Ruxbin and Mott St, hopes to offer an event that nourishes the community with open arms and open minds.
Mott St will be open for patio-only service during the event.
